[Sunset/ Moonrise, Full-Moon Hike] Cowles Mountain
Cowles Moutain (in Mission Trails Regional Park) is probably the most popular trail in San Diego county, and a great sunset/ full-moon hike. There are about 4-5 different ways to climb to the peak, the one we took was the shortest route up (1.5mi, one way) from the Golfcrest Trailhead.
Getting to the trailhead is straightforward. Exit Mission Gorge Rd from the I-8, drive North (the road turns right, stay on it) about 4 miles to come up to Golcrest Drive, Turn R at Golfcrest and drive a couple miles to see the Trailhead sign.
